King Conan

Conan's my boy! So I did this last week and am pretty happy with how it turned out. I keep meaning to put a bg into this one but as more and more time goes by Im getting kinda scared to add one in. Anyways here it is all scanned in. I think now that I have it in this form I'll be ok laying in a bg. anyways...
I hope one day they make the king conan film and Arnold stars in it! It would be wicked! If not I can make do with the current Conan comic. Cary Nord whos a canadian boy does the art. Hes the shizzle.

Civil War wrap up! RIP Cap!

So Cap got shot, Im happy he didnt die fighting iron man in civil war. If anyone had to be behind him getting killed it had to be the red skull. I cant wait to see how it all plays out though, Cap will eventually be back obviously, its all about how we get there though. Ed Brubaker is a great writer though and Im sure will come through huge on this.
So Civil war finally ended, I, unlike most really liked it. I think there was definitly some wierd moments that were out of character but I enjoyed the ride. It did take way too long though. So obviously these are the two main jerks in the story. I honestly would of sided with iron man in this struggle, at the same time though Cap is at his best when hes standing up for the american ideal. If he wanted me on his side I mean.. who can say no to cap.
I like thor, I loved simonson's run on him when I was a kid. My fav was when his bones were brittle and he was in full asgardian battle armour fighting the midgaard serpant to prevent ragnarok. The whole issue was done in splash pages! Anyways, as fortold Thor dies at the end and ragnarok comes. Dont worry though, he came back and everything was allright. That'll happen again soon. Cuz he currently dead again. SO hes coming back.um... yeah in the spirit of Civil war lets say this isnt thor but the crazy creation of Hank Pym Tony Stark and Reed Richards, THE MIGHTY CLOR!!!!!!

So this was supposed to be my neighbourhood, right around where I catch my streetcar everyday on my way to CORE. It kinda got away from me, or I got lazy, I dont know which, and it turned into definitly not my nieghbourhood...p.s I like cats.

SHAZAM BITCH!!!

I dont draw batman very much, hes a cool dood. Also hes supposed to be looking at a piece of evidence he found. I think the idea of batman as the worlds greatest detective is underused. Hes always portrayed as smarter than everyone else around him, but I like the sleuthing.
SHAZAM!!!! Jeff Smith is making me buy a Shazam book! Check out his new book Shazam! The monster society of evil! Its really good, its in a prestige format so its a lil pricey but its worth it since its Jeff smith doing superheroes!! Shazam Ive only really known from Kingdom Come, Dark Knight Strikes Again, a short arc in Starman and that one episode of Justice league unlimited so its nice to get a better grip on him. Its a good book!
I like drawing dudes with swords! I think I did this when I was still playing FF3 on my ds. I love the FF games, particularly the older ones but I find the character designs for all the heroes to be kind of infeminate. Its like why I cant but Orlando bloom as an action hero. Anyways....

Not drawing much.

So I havent really been drawing too much lately. These are just a few things from my sketchbook. Nothing is exactly finished but I've been feeling bad about not posting lately so I wanted to get something on here. I've just started on the next batch of seven pages for my comic, hopefully those will be up within a few weeks. ....Im sooo slow. These are two of the lead characters from the remake of final fantasy 3 for the DS. The job system in the game is good times. These are a knight on the right and the other is a darknight.
So I was at Beguiling the other day picking up my books. They had all these beat up trades at the front for two bucks. One of these was Hellboy seed of destruction. I love hellboy and own a lot of single issues but no complete arcs. So picking that up inspired me to draw a wee hellboy. His legs are fucked but whatever. This other guy is from an idea I had thats never really got off the ground.

Whats coming

So this is the main character from my 24 hour comic. I inked this with the good ol staedlers. I've used the watercolor crayons for the color, they are alot of fun. Anyways things are happening with my comic. I have the whole thing thumbnailed out now, its gonna be a bit longer than I thought. 30ish pages. Watch out for it.

7 new pages!!!

So its been a while, recently Ive been reinvigorated to finish this book. These 7 pages have been done over the last two weeks. Im planning on finishing this book in 7 pages chunks. Look for em! Secondly Ive also decided to self publish on a very small scale. Im looking to do a very limited press of this I will sell at cons over the summer as a way of learning how to properly self publish and also get my name out more in the toronto scene. Anyays that will prolly come to fruition around the spring. Of course you dear blog will be the first to hear. Untill then merry festivus my friends!
